2010 and later seem to install without errors. It seems to be any installations involving an MSI installer such as the C++ 20 Depending on what tries to install, the errors are all similar. I checked the event log and collect.exe tool verbose logs for more information. Setup could not install MS Visual C++ 2010 Express - ENU and does not attempt the SQL Server or Help Viewer installations. Doing so will "successfully" install MAER, VC9.0 Runtime (x86), MS Visual Studio 2010 Express
To try troubleshooting, I started the setup file from command prompt with the /norestart argument to avoid that restart at the start of installation. Up and restarted the installation with the Microsoft Application Error Reporting, which fails almost immediately (and no other software installation is attempted). When the computer restarted, the installer started back When the installer finished copying setup files and began installation, it almost immediately required a reboot. Yesterday I tried installation MS Visual Studio C++ Express 2010.
